safe Events Guide
We have worked hard to review our event processes to ensure that we can welcome you on board the barge safely. We have worked closely with our suppliers, caterers and colleagues to uphold our passengers’ comfort and safety in every aspect of hire. Our efforts have earned us Visit England’s We’re Good To Go designation, and put us on the forward foot as we get back to hosting your events.
We ask any guests who are feeling unwell not to attend events on board the barge and follow current government and NHS guidance if they show symptoms of illness. As an added precaution, we recommend encouraging your guests to make use of the free Coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid lateral flow tests available from the NHS or select pharmacies.

barge capacity
Barge capacity is currently set at 60 passengers.
Passengers are welcome to move around the barge, however we ask you to be mindful of other guests and Crew moving around the barge and respectful of their personal space.
Hands, face, space
Hand sanitiser points and hand soap are available in the bathrooms and at each entrance to the main cabin. Please wash your hands often and make use of our facilities.
During cruises, windows and doors may be opened to allow fresh air to circulate through the venue.
Our Crew may be using face coverings for the duration of the hire. Please kindly be respectful of their decision.
We invite passengers to make full use of our two open-air decks at the front and back of the barge. Plenty of seating will be provided for your use.
food & drink
We have worked closely with our caterers to ensure that all food served is prepared and delivered in a covid-safe manner. For more information about what this means for your event, please contact us directly.
Gloves will be used by those handling foods.
Cashless payment
We are only accepting payment by card or contactless. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Amex.
entertainment & music
We encourage you to design your own playlist for your event. Please create your playlist on Spotify and share the link with us at least 2 working days before your event so that we can test the sound.
Let us know if you wish to bring a DJ, musician or entertainer for your event. We strongly recommend that artists design their performances with minimal set-up and equipment to reduce set-up time before the event.
enhanced cleaning
Increased cleaning regimes in line with COVID-19 prevention recommendations are in place throughout the venue.
All surfaces, furniture and equipment are sanitised before and after all events. High contact areas are also sanitised during events. We use eco-friendly cleaning products designed to fully disinfect all surfaces while remaining free of harmful chemicals.
